Herb's Description

Magnolia grandiflora Linn. Evergreen tree, up to 30 m high, branchlets, petioles and lower surface of leaves densely brown tomentellate. Leaves thickly coriaceous, elliptic, oblong-elliptic or obovate-elliptic, 10-20 X 4-10 cm, petioles without stipular trace. Flowers white, fragrant, 15-20 cm in diameter, perianth lobes 9-12; gynoecium sessile. Aggregate fruits cylindrical-ellipsoidal, 5 cm in diameter, densely hairy.
